The British Council for School Environments celebrated the 2009 awards for best practice in the design and construction of schools at a glittering evening of celebration for 500 industry professionals recognising the UK's world class school design and construction industry on June 24th at the Emirates Stadium.

This year the quality of submissions was extremely high with 170 entries across the 13 categories.  In particular the ‘Inspiring Design for Schools’ category delivered a range of fantastic projects and 6 awards were made to recognise the very best examples of school design in the UK.

Rachel Jones, Head of Education at Steljes, presented the prestigious award for the most inspiring secondary school design.
